Though I have not played any in quite some time. Role playing games helped me during a particularly troubled time in my life. And like many other people, my role playing game journey started with Dungeons & Dragons.
Satan’s game.
It all started in a previous age, when AOL was still distributed vigorously via floppy disc delivery. My parents got a computer for the family, because that was a thing you did in the mid 90s. Fate was on my side…
Since I posted about my first match of Warhammer 40k a few months ago, I felt it was fitting to do the same for the next tabletop skirmish game that I found myself playing. This turned out to be Star Wars: Legion
With my Warhound finished, I would now put all of my efforts into finishing the diorama base. Which I had been working on at the same time as the titan. In addition to building the base, I would also craft a story for the scene I was making. When the dust settled, I was left with something I could be super proud of.
In Part 2 of my Warhound build I work on, and finish, the upper half of the model. Bringing this model to completion. I also finally figure out what I am going to do about my little problem with the titans left foot.
From June to November 2020, during the first year of COVID hell, I was working on a massive project. Titanic even. This is the first in a three part series detailing how I achieved my ever evolving vision for this project. From start to finish.
So let us continue the series by reminiscing on the many nights of snacks and laughter I spent with tabletop Roleplaying Games. After I will talk of how these pen and paper rpg’s influenced my life.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is about a Pict Warrior woman named Senua and her dark journey through a Viking and Celtic inspired world on her way into Helheim.
Another year has gone by. Indeed, another year down the crapper. I have a hard time imagining that anyone can look back and feel particularly good about 2021. The pandemic seems to have gained momentum, current events were miserable, disturbing or both, and people are clearly tired of it all. What an utter dumpster fire.
Has there ever been something that you were trying to do that, no matter how hard you tried, just seemed impossible? Like, the universe was actually trying it’s damnedest to prevent you from accomplishing it? For me, that was the Fire Raptor Gunship. This kit was cursed from day one. Did I let it get to me? F**K YES I DID!
