Board Game Collections
This Gallery page is dedicated to showcasing the painted miniatures for non-Games Workshop board games. While painting miniatures for tabletop war games adds to the immersion, especially when placed upon a board of painted scenery, painting minis for board games is just to make them look a little better. It’s also easier to differentiate which models are player pieces or adversaries when they are not all bare plastic.
Another Glorious Day in the Corps
The Aliens movie is an action packed sci-fi horror movie and is ripe for gaming experiences, both in video and on the tabletop. The imminent threat of the movie is represented by stressful resource management and dangerous close quarter fights. The game was tough to find for a while, having been out of print, but, luckily for all, the game was brought back to production and even got a new expansion. Currently, I have 34 miniatures painted up for Another Glorious Day in the Corps and it’s expansions.
Another Glorious Day in the Corp
The base game comes with 5 Marines, Ripley having just learned to use a M41A pulse rifle and the newly rescued Newt alongside 16 Xenomorphs.
Expansions
“I am the *ultimate* badass! State of the badass art! You do not wanna fuck with me. Check it out!” Hudson proclaims “We got tactical smart missiles, phased plasma pulse rifles, RPGs, we got sonic electronic ball breakers! We got nukes, we got knives, sharp sticks…”
Nemesis
I like the idea of a semi-cooperative game, where everyone is trying to get out but also have their own agenda. Clearly taking inspiration from the Alien movie franchise and other sci-fi horror media, the aesthetic instantly drew me in. I also got suckered into a crowdfunding incident which saw a delivery of game expansions that were otherwise unavailable. I have 26 models painted as of now and will move onto the expansions and sequels.
Nemesis Board Game
The first game is set on the ship named NEMESIS and pits the crew against the Intruders
Zombicide 2nd Ed
Who doesn’t like a good zombie apocalypse. Movie. I mean a good zombie movie, well, Zombicide allows you to enjoy the undead apocalypse with friends and very little chance of death. There are currently 92 painted models in our Zombicide collection. Kera helped a lot with the zombies in the base game.
Zombicide 2nd Edition
The second edition of the base game is where I started. Kera and I hammered out the entire game with some contrast paint and a few movies worth of time.
