Prymm

A small fishing town built at the mouth of a river upon a few scraps of land and connected barges.

Prymm (town), Central Thylasx region, Queendom of Nodora

Prymm is a Nodoran port and trade town set up at the mouth where the Lifeblood River meets the Stinging Salt Sea, built upon a collection of small islands and floating, interconnected barges. This primary fishing port supports several hundred residents, all of which work and live their days walking over wooden walkways and bridges over the many waterways leading out into the sea beyond. Prymm feeds the nearby city of Raymarath and even exports to the massive city of Queensgate farther north, and also acts as a secondary port towards the southern border of the country.

About 75 buildings including a cathedral on the largest island and the Manor on the second largest. About 40 multi-story houses are built upon small bits of land or barges. Beyond the main gate leading out of the city a modest set of fields augment the primary seafood diet but produces far too little to export to other parts of the nation.

Beyond the crop fields sits the Stoneheart mountain range ever-present above the town, and the source from which the Lifeblood river flows. Supposedly a lost city of Elders can be found within the mountain peeks in addition to the dwarven city within and the trade town at its peak. To the north-west starts the plains of the Old World ruled by the goblinoids and to the south a dark and dangerous forest, with one fairly safe trading road through it to the south into Lower Thylasx. Leading off to the north a highway with several posted forts runs roughly parallel along the jagged coast to the city of Raymarath some way north, overlooking the water from the top of a jagged cliff.

Points of interest:

When in need of weapons, either for to prepare for war or gear up for dungeon delving, Aggressive Armaments is the finest place in Prymm to acquire a sharp edge or blunt instrument to cause damage.

Bailin’s Bluff is a seemingly normal tavern overlooking the Flotsam but is thought to house a secret Black Rose Society lair. Found north off the Flotsam, Bailin’s Bluff is the place where you are more likely to see a bar fight than to get a clean glass and while illicit drugs are not on the menu, but likely can be found there.

The Blinding Tower, a 150 foot stone tower built of impossibly bright white stone that reflects the sun in a dazzling display of colors acts as a wizard tower and lighthouse for the town. No obvious door into the tower exists at ground level.

Darren’s Fine Defenses is run by Darren, an Armorer and friend adventurer of Merrick Mayhammer. The Protective equipment offered by Darren’s Fine Defenses is well known throughout Nodora and beyond. Known for custom work to fit any Adventurer, big or small.

The Flotsam Galleria trade square has many permanent stalls, frequently changing booths and a general store on barges next to the docks upon the Stinging Salt Sea. The Better Elixir, Waterlogged Book and Fairweather Fishmonger are permanent residents of the Flotsam. The Pleasant Perfumery and Baking Raven are longtime stall owners, although the Ravens’ baked goods are made elsewhere. The Grumpy Gull General store is attached the The Ironclad Pig hardware store, both standing watch over the entrance into the Flotsam having been there since before the town had a name.

The Stone Sentinel Inn also known as the Sentinel is a good place for food, drink, stories and a long stay. South of the Flotsam and sometimes seen to be in a constant cold war with Bailin’s Bluff, the Sentinel is seen to be the preferred stop for the more scrupulous visitors and adventurers of Prymm.

The first fort north of Prymm is the Stonebreaker Keep several miles north of the town along the main trade route. Legend says a stone titan died here, lying broken upon the land, and the keep was built from and atop the stone corpse overlooking the way south to Prymm. The Stonebreaker Keep supplies soldiers to guard the road to Prymm and the streets within, and is led by Knight-Captain Branwyne the Bold, having been raised to captain when her last superior was slain defending the road from organized brigands: her retribution was fast and fearsome, earning her the moniker.

Temple dedicated to Storm and the Sea took over the old cathedral: no one remembers the old name or faith, but it is now known as the Stormwrack Solitude and is primarily dedicated to Hohteran, the God of Storms, but many small shrines are dedicated within.

Key figures

Alderman Reynoldus is generally thought to be up to no good but no one survives to tell their story of proof at court. The most often met of the council is Alderman Krastigen who is often found looking for alternate means to take care of issues around town. The other and less well known Altermans are Nethersoul and Stanhope, whom play it closer to the vest, but likely have their own personal goals and views on how the town should be run, and influencing Mayor Westley, whom is old, frail and less than cognizant of his surroundings at all times, to the point of ruling the town for him.

Living at the top of the Blinding Tower is Vharudan the Thrice Hanged, one of the few known wizards in the area powerful enough to not bother hiding, having survived several trials and executions over the past hundred years. The Kakadora have avoided visiting Prymm over the past few years, leading some to believe that Queen Steelheart has pardoned the eccentric old wizard. That or they have been scared away. Whatever the case, Vharudan is not one to speak about himself and only offers up information as payment for his own needs.

The charismatic and lighthearted Merrik Mayhammer had his left arm and side of face petrified and turned to stone during a bad engagement in the Stoneheart mountains took him out of the adventuring game and into the storytelling phase of his career, as he runs the Stone Sentinel Tavern and Inn. His injuries have not lightened his mood but they have resulted in restless nights and a round belly from too many Ales shared over stories of his past glories.

The ex- leader of the Order of the Wyvern sky pirates the half-elf Dralael “the immortal” has taken up shop in Prymm and is building a mercenary company or adventuring union depending on whom he is talking to. His proposed Guild of Misadventure looks to get legally binding paperwork for guarantees that their adventurers within the guild get paid as promised, while also making aid to a guild-aligned group in need mandatory, within reason.

It is likely that Vosian Knight Rochard has been sent to deal with a problem that he will not name to the residents of Prymm, for his Knightly order is known to be secretive when Vosian relics are involved. Any remnants from the Vosian Hegemony are expected to be handed over to him for the glory of Maedero, which he would prefer, but he will take them by force with no heistation or ethical quandary.
