Upon and around the world of Raidethe, Gods work a little different from other material realms of the cosmos: The super powerful beings known as the Gods of Raidethe are in fact the last survivors of the first civilization to populate the solar system.
No living creature within the system of planets is aware of the fact that their gods are in fact refugees from an alternate reality, fleeing persecution and famine of both physical and metaphysical needs. The Vosian Hegemony referred to this civilization as the Foundation and speaks of their people spreading across the solar system between the two feuding stars. They rose, spread, and fell to their own hubris. The realization that they had become that which they fled. The few who understood their foley chose not to save, or even to actively hasten the collapse of their society and these few became the Gods of Raidethe.
