These are table top wargames in which you become lord commander of an army of little plastic space men solely for the purposes of doing battle against another commander of little plastic space men.
2021 was disappointing for me, Well, in terms of hobbying. The rest of it wasn’t so bad. I failed at every one of the hobby goals I had set prior to the new year. And my output was abysmal compared to years past. I did get some good things done though.
It’s November.

Part 6 wraps up this series about my year at the hobby desk.
And now the 3rd season of Covid. Somehow, still hard to believe.
For us, not much has changed at home. My wife was working from home. I was still working an alternate schedule. And the scope of my Titan project was also about to get much larger.
So let us begin this series with my long-running obsession with Wargames, as well as skirmish games, complicated board games and how they changed my life.
We are well into June now. The end of June actually. My hobby rut has its grip on my throat. Tyson and I are still doing the Blackstone Fortress thing online occasionally.
At this point Covid-19 has been a part of the world’s vocabulary for half of a year. Insane. What’s even more so is, it’s still not looking like it will be ending anytime soon…
It may have taken three months instead of the three weeks we planned, but my wife and I have finally finished painting the launch box for the new edition of Kill Team and we are ready to play games in the Octarius Sector.
If you were to ask me about the tabletop game Warhammer 40k ten years ago, I wouldn’t have been able to tell you much about it. I’m not even sure I knew that tabletop games existed. That changed in college…
We are now into the end of April. And this year is turning out to be completely screwed up. The whole world is shut down or shutting down. Supply lines are strained. People are dying left and right. Surely this can’t continue, right?

The Warhammer Quest Blackstone Fortress Box Set is completely painted, a blast to play, and helped me survive temporary unemployment during the height of Covid in 2020.
2020 has thrown us all a curveball in the form of Covid-19. And it would appear that I was not spared. In hindsight, I am not surprised that I got sick. Before the lockdown, I used to use packed to the doors public transportation regularly, probably didn’t wash my hands as much as I should have, and I’ve never had the best of immune systems.
So here I was, still recovering. Not allowed to go to work.
